If you’re getting cold calls from 03330341635 claiming to be from BT, don’t be fooled: it’s a scam.
When you receive a call from this number the person on the other end of the line will claim that your copper line broadband internet connection is due to be stopped because of a Government Directive due to come into force “soon”.
Whilst there is some truth to this story, you will be contacted by BT well in advance of your Internet being disconnected. The fact is that callers from 03330341635 are actually NOT from BT but instead a company called Gamma Telecom Holdings Ltd using aggressive sales tactics to convince you that they are from BT.
They will also claim that your telephone handsets are old and not compatible anymore. Whilst this will likely be true when you do eventually move to fibre broadband, your older handsets will continue to work until the switchover.
It’s also worth noting that the infrastructure for UK phone-lines is actually controlled by Openreach.
