How to Remove a Stuck Key from a Volkswagen Transporter DSG

It’s not uncommon for owners of Volkswagen Transporter DSG models to experience a key stuck in the ignition barrel.

Whilst this can, occasionally, be due to a fault ignition key or barrel, it is almost always caused by a fault with the key selector mechanism.

The helpful video below will show you what action to can take to remove the stuck key, but you can also follow these helpful hints:

  • Ensure that the gear selector is in ‘P’ (Park)
  • Make sure that the selector button on the right side of the gear knob is all the way out
  • Try giving the lever and few sharp whacks to the right
