Twitter as been alive with complaints as families accross the UK opened their Christmas turkey only to find it has gone bad.

On Christmas Eve, one family decided to prepare their meal early and opened their Asda-bought turkey to be treated with a putrid smell of bad meat.

Turning to social media, it quickly became evident that many more people had their Christmas dinner ruined.

Donna Burnett said:

“if Christmas wasn’t difficult enough this year, I’ve just got out turkey out of the fridge, opened it and it it well and truly rotten.”

Another Twitter user, Justine Biggs, said:

“Thanks for ruining my Christmas dinner, the turkey I bought which doesn’t go out of date untill tommorow stinks off rotten meat! Smells like arse when I opened it, now me and my family have no meat for our dinner.”

Disgruntled customers have contacted Asda via the social media feed, but without reply at the time of pubishing.
